The System
For this campaign, we'll be using Warrior, Rogue, and Mage, a rules-light old-school fantasy tabletop system. It's available here on this forum. It uses only d6, and we use a dicebot for playing in IRC.
WR&M features a simple, classless system, in which Warrior, Rogue, and Mage are the three primary attributes. Warrior represents strength, constitution, and skill with heavy weapons, Rogue is dexterity, charisma, stealth and thievery, and Mage is intelligence, wisdom, and magic ability. Spread 10 points out between those (6 being the highest starting for any one ability), pick a talent, and select some skills and equipment and you're ready to go.
Campaign Premise
The PCs are the popular heroes of the ruined town of Oakmore. The land has been ravaged by a great apocalypse that occurred just a month before the start of the campaign. The remnants of the town are centered around a massive wizard's tower, which, at the time of the calamity, was the center of a powerful series of spells that saved several thousand refugees in a large radius around the tower. The land heaved, mountains cracked, and all were lifted to safety, suspended in the air on a giant floating island. Faritheal, the revered archmage who created the spells and led the ritual that saved the people, is the acting leader. From among the people, he has selected capable heroes to send on missions away from the floating island to explore, scavenge for valuables, and save survivors.
The tone of this campaign will be dark and gritty and usually steer away from silly.
All characters will advance at the same time, regardless of the number of sessions that your character plays in.
Sessions will be run every Saturday at 10 PM Eastern time. Don't worry if you miss a session. They will be episodic in nature, and your character can still advance with the others.
Reckoning Time
We're going to use a simple system to keep track of the passage of time. It's simply "Day _," with Day 0 being the day of the Great Cataclysm. The campaign began on Day 30 when Solutare the mage and Liam the ranger descended to the ruined town of Oakmore.
